Old-World Finish

OLD-WORLD FINISH

This 1990’s model home got an old-world makeover. The large, round tower entry of an earlier model had plain off-white walls. The client did like the entryway, which was reminiscent of a French chateau.

However, they believed that it could use a change from the sterile white coloring. A rag was used to apply the old-world finish, consisting of one semi-transparent glaze. The glaze was colored with raw sienna colorant. As the entry was over 18′ high, the workers had to work a wet edge with no break from top to floor and down a hall 20′. The end result was a simple and elegant pattern.
